Celebration of Indian Culture

A bright, musical, fantastic evening of celebration.

During the day of our celebration, all pupils were allowed to come in to school wearing their own personal cultural clothing, it was lovely to see so many different cultures being celebrated within the school. Some pupils even wore an item of white, green or orange to represent India’s flag.

It was a wonderful night that helped the Indian students of St Joseph’s feel appreciated and supported in their culture, and pupils of all cultures encouraged to feel proud of their heritage - whatever that may be. The whole weeks’ activities gave us all an amazing insight into India’s culture, religion, languages etc. Newport Kerala Community helped to organise the evening and people from the community of all ages put much effort to make the evening memorable.
